Today we are going to work with an actions that is one of my personal favourites - ball rolling under the feet!
Rolling a ball under the foot is an extremely effective way to relax and loosen the bottom of the feet which I like to refer to as an overused area of the body - we literally out all of our weight on this part of the body so yes - it needs some attention.

Hi and welcome to your journey into yoga. I'm Avery rich, and I'm so happy to have you along for the ride. As we have been working on the feet for the last few episodes, we will continue this work today. We are going to work with an action that is one of my personal favorites, ball rolling under the feet. So if you want to get prepared, make sure that you have either a tennis ball, or if you want to do the exercise in a slightly more intense way, use a golf ball. Rolling a ball under the foot is an extremely effective way to relax and loosen the bottom of the feet, which I like to refer to as an overused area of the body. We literally put all of our weight on the feet. It needs some attention. All of the nerve endings in the body reside in the bottom of the feet, and also the points on the feet are related to the various organs in our body. If you have an interest in this, check out some stuff on reflexology, which I won't have time to deal with today. But for your own curiosity, if you have any It is sometimes fun to notice if certain points on the bottom of your feet are curious once we begin to rule the ball, and you may want to find out what these areas are associated with moving on before we begin. You may want to support yourself with your hand onto the wall or a chair as we work through the actions today, sometimes they require balance. First, take your ball onto the floor and beginning with your right foot, take the sole of your right foot onto the ball and start applying some weight to the ball, and then begin rolling the ball underneath the sole of your foot. Try to explore all areas of the foot, including the ball side, the heel side, everywhere in between the bottom of the toes, too, the arches, etc. I'm going to give you about a minute to do this exploration. Release your foot back down to the floor and just stand on both feet. Take a moment to notice the difference in the two feet. After this work, you may feel like the right foot is more connected, as well as relaxed. Let's move to side two. Take the sole of your left foot, this time onto the ball and applying some weight to the ball. Begin rolling the ball underneath this foot, exploring the entire sole of the foot. Once again, remember to breathe and take a minute to do this. Once again. Release your foot back to the floor and pause, noticing the two feet and how they feel. Your feet literally hold you up and take care of you. They take us from place to place, and it is important to take care of them as well. Rolling the ball under the foot is a quick and easy way to bring some instant relief to your feet any time your feet may need some attention. Thank you for continuing our journey into the feet, and I look forward to seeing you next time. Namaste.
